Podcast Running Order

Mind Map

Podcast composer

Podcast compass

I started initially having the idea on having a poster with the alphabet with each of the letters being from a popular game however as i was executing this i felt like it did not tie in with promoting my podcast which was my plan.

I then decided to create a small social media graphic to be posted to sites such as Instagram and Facebook in combination with my initial idea of the lettering from popular games.

I felt like my first draft was unprofessional and did not loo visually appeasing to look at so I changed the spacing of the letters and the font used to a more fitting theme.

Again, I still felt like I could further improve the work I was producing so I spent some time after class to adjust the levels of the stroke, shadow and changed the blending options of the text to create my final graphic.

I wanted to go above and beyond for this project using my skills from outside of college so I decided to create an overlay for my live podcast. I started this off by creating some simple shapes like the PlayStation symbols as they are very recognisable to most people.

I then created a gradient for the base background of the overlay using the colours I chose for my brand/podcast theme.

After this i then started to duplicate my shapes to create an effective pattern in the background of my overlay. I felt like the black was too overpowering so i changed the layer to 'overlay' to make it fit with the theme.

After my background was finished I added in my boarders using the rectangle shape tool (one for my camera, one for my co host and one for any media we have playing). Additionally I wanted to give the overlay some more personalisation with little details so I added the logo I created and some video game controllers.

I was originally going to leave it like this however, I came up with the ideas that i should display the media on the bottom half of the screen on a Nintendo switch as it brings more of a visually appealing look to the podcast.

Finally i felt as if the overlay felt very left side heavy as the right side was left blank so i wanted to add in some text with the details of what is happening in the podcast as i felt this would engage any viewers joining the livestream who does not know what is going on.

I wanted to create yet another overlay for when i introduce my podcast and for this my ideas was to create some pixel art for a simple border as most of retro games are in this style. I started off with a rectangle at the resolution of 1920x1080 as this is the size of the media being displayed behind it

I downscaled the resolution on photoshop to make it easier to do pixel art on top of.

I then upscaled the image again after I completed the pixel art so I would be able import the image onto my overlay without it being too small.

I used the simple background I made from before to keep the theme the same across the entire project .

I realised after that i needed to add my logo in so i added it in the right corner to finish off the overlay.
